School of Economics funding
The School of Economics (SOE) funds:
- conference participation: airfare, accommodation and registration fee for one domestic or international conference, and possibly additional conference expenses, depending on the budget;
- journal submission fees;
- editing services.
How much is available depends on the School's budget and UNSW's. Around mid-February, the Postgraduate Research Coordinator (PGRC) announces the expected amount per student. If you plan to go to a conference in Term 1, talk to the PGRC early so that funding can be made available in time.
In the final third of the year, more funding may be released, depending on how much of the School's budget is left. You can use it even if you have already spent your allocation for the year. If you have compelling reasons to go over your allocation, discuss them with the PGRC.
To apply for conference funding, see request conference funding.
Journal submission fees
To receive support, you need an endorsement from your supervisor. Include the name of the journal you plan to submit to and the cost of submission.
Editing services
Requests are approved case by case.
Dropbox licence
UNSW provides OneDrive cloud storage for all its higher degree research students. If you work with coauthors (including your supervisors) and need a Dropbox licence, contact the PGRC. Requests are approved case by case.
